Mere Dog Music was originally founded to encourage the creation of new Praise and Worship music by members of the Arlington Church of Christ in Riverside, California. Although Arlington was not a large congregation, we found that, in the surprising grace of God, great gifts often come in small packages. In part, that’s why we selected our name “Mere Dog” – it comes from our motto verse in 2 Kings 8:13:
“How could your servant, a mere dog, accomplish such a feat?”

While the main thrust of Mere Dog Music will always be in the area of Contemporary Christian music, some of our songs are in other genres, for we believe that all of our musical gifts and talents can be offered to the glory of God.
Lastly, mere Dog Music is a proud member of ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) and CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing International).
